Singapore City 360° is a free-and-easy travel toolkit for Singapore. Most travel sites tell you a place is “easily accessible by MRT.” We tell you which exit, how many minutes of walking, and what the taxi would have cost instead.
Where the numbers come from
Nothing on this site is a guess or a rounded-off memory. Every figure is derived from published government data at build time or fetched live when you load the page:
- Walking routes and distances — OneMap, the Singapore Land Authority's mapping service. Real pedestrian paths, not straight lines drawn between two dots.
- MRT and bus journeys — OneMap public transport routing, plus live bus arrivals from LTA DataMall.
- Taxi fares — calculated from the operator's own published fare formula: flag-down, distance and time increments, peak and location surcharges. Not a scraped average.
- Weather — the National Environment Agency via data.gov.sg, and Open-Meteo for the multi-day outlook.
- Public holidays — the Ministry of Manpower's gazetted list, which is what actually changes fares and opening hours.
Where a figure was checked by hand, the page says so and dates it. Where something is an estimate, we call it an estimate.
Who writes it
Singapore City 360° is run by a small team of travel writers, photographers and editors who live here. Recommendations come from being on the ground and from research we can point at, which is why you'll see sources cited on the attraction pages rather than adjectives.
